The Landscape Artist - Biography / Interview Transcript

Hi, I'm Peter Van Seggelen from The Landscape Artist. Well, we can come in and do a a a landscaped yard. We can redesign a yard, or we can come in and do a brand new yard, and we'll design the yard, and come back and implement the yard itself. And we can do from waterfalls, ponds, to gazebos, decks, arbors, and whatever's entailed in the design of the yard, and what the client wants in their yard. Usually we do all our own designs, but we can work from someone else's design. And basically, we'll start from moving the dirt to the final plant and piece of sod to go down. So anything in between that, part of the construction aspect of it, we have carpenters, we have stone masons, we have pool companies that work with us. So basically, we can do all of it from A to Z. Our whole overall game is is above most companies, but if I was to say to specialize, I would say that our stonework is is very good, and our, and our flatwork, which is pavers, that sort of thing, we do an excellent job, and we have a great carpenter on staff. So, I think, you know, it's pretty hard to pick one individual item that we we say that we excel better than than everybody, because I think that we excel better that everybody on almost everything, because we have professionals doing each aspect of the job. With the Calgary Horticultural Society, we've won lots of awards through them. We won the the Top Choice Award in Canada for Calgary, and we also won the CCA, the People's Choice Award in Calgary for the last five years. We've had client's that we've done three or four jobs. We're actually now actually in the stage where we're doing clients' children's jobs. You know, I have calls, and I go and see them, and they were, you know, six, seven years old, and now they're 35, and and getting me to do the work for them. So it's a, it's a big change, and, and it's quite a compliment to be able to have have the children of the clients that we have worked for before to call us up. What we try to promise a client is to do a high-quality job, and to expedite the project in a very timely fashion, of course, Mother Nature dictating to whether we can get in and out as quickly as we'd like to. The pleasure I get is is working with the clients. I really like my clients. I like to see the beginning and the finish. I like to see their eyes, you know, when they see the finished project, and the excitement that we all have, and, so it's just a really good process. When when things go well, it's, it's just so much fun, and, and it's a rewarding, it's a rewarding job.
